Two weeks ago, on April 5, we broke the internet, social media, and organizing records when more than 3 million people flooded the streets as part of the “hands off” day of action. Starting this weekend, we’re joining the All Out for Earth Day mobilizations April 19-22, and then the Earth Day to May Day mobilizations April 21-May 1.
I know there’s a ton going on right now, but these national mobilizations are important to keep up the momentum and build resistance to fossil fueled fascism. Here’s how you can join us and get connected:
- Join the All Out for Earth Day mobilization. You don’t need to plan a new event, just add your existing Earth week events to our mobilize page; Check out our host toolkit for support; and/or sign your local group up to cosponsor.
- Special appeal for this weekend – Our New York City march for climate and migrants is going to be especially big, and in the current climate of illegal deportations, especially important. If you haven’t already, RSVP here to join the march to protect migrants and the planet to demand: ICE out of New York; New York out of fossil fuels! Once you’ve RSVP’d spread the word on social media using these links:

- Then, get ready to organize from Earth Day to May Day in solidarity with workers, immigrants, and anti-fascists of all types. If you want to get a jump on things, kick off Earth Week with us, Labor Network for Sustainability and the Chicago Teachers Union with a special webinar April 21. We’ll have more updates, actions, and events for you next week – and it all builds to May Day, May 1 2025, when we’ll participate in a massive strike and protest day for our climate, communities, immigrant neighbors, and more.
If you need more background on why we’re organizing: We’ve been telling you for weeks about the fossil fueled fascist takeover of our government.
The threats are real, clear, and happening now. Benefits for seniors and the disabled are already being cut. ICE and other fossil fueled fascist agents are already arresting, deporting, and disappearing people. AI and Data centers demanding an endless supply of electricity on demand, and increasingly partnering with the same bad companies (like Chevron) to get it from fracked gas.
All while we are living in a climate emergency. Our forests are burning, our oceans are rising, and our communities are suffering. Trump and his MAGA minions in Congress are preparing their biggest attack yet — a massive budget bill that will gut life-saving climate investments, shred social safety nets, and flood billionaires and corporate polluters with tax breaks and polluter handouts.
But resistance is also rising. From mass non-cooperation to boycotts and protests, Americans are bravely pushing back against the regime. Our actions are already having an impact. New leaders are stepping up, fired up, and ready to take action. Because we’re not just at a crossroads – we’re at a breaking point. But the fossil fuel industry and its political allies are doubling down. Assaulting not just our climate, and communities, but our democracy itself and the ability of state and local leaders to take action at all.
Now is the time to rise up and show the world that we will not back down. Join us in the streets this weekend or make a plan to join us online or in-person next week for Earth Day to May Day organizing.
